Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day 1

Fandom Snowflake Challenge banner

This looked like a fun way to start off the new year in a fannish sort of style! (seen most recently at [livejournal.com profile] firesign10 )

So to get on with the catching up,
Day One

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator..
Oooh why is this so hard?

My favorite holiday story that I've written: Ghost of Room 118,  (or on AO3): this one was my holiday contribution last year, my take on "A Christmas Carol" just Supernatural style. The Summary Reads: Room 118 holds many memories for Sam Winchester, but on Christmas Eve, he finds that his dreams hold even more. After visits from the Ghosts of Christmas Wasn’t, Christmas Not-So-Much, and Christmas Maybe-Never help him figure out if he and Dean can find a way to travel down Crazy Street together? It is set directly after 8.09 “Citizen Fang”, written during the winter hiatus break before we knew what happened!  Slightly cracky, and schmoopy. I also really like the photoshop illustration I did to accompany it.

A story I feel no one ever saw but I still really love: probably the ones I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] spnpairingbingo, they were all pretty much super rare pairs, but were very fun and challenging to write.  One of my favorites of those that didn't get read too much is a femslash one with Demon!Bela/Meg, with references to Meg/Cas and Sam/Dean, called Thirty Days in the Hole.  or on AO3.

A story that defines me as a writer (well a fandom writer anyways): the one I think I'd pick is my most recent one (since it's still working through itself in my mind), which was written for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas, I Love This Road (or on AO3) it's got all the elements of what I enjoy working with, Sam/Dean, a reunion, established relationship, music lyrics, mind-reading, conversations they desperately *need* to have)

Yay!!

That's just how I feel about my bingo! They're odd little ducks but they were each such an experience to do! I had a Bela one too, Bela/Crowley and it was intense to write.

I really liked your Xmas one so much!

It's hard picking your favorite works, isn't it? Your Christmas Carol tale sounds intriguing. One of my favorite things about this first day challenge is seeing all the good fic that's waiting out there for when I've got a slow day!

And I'm trying to catch up on the spnj2christmas fics. So much good fic, so little time!
