Can't wait to do this one again!
The Harlequin Challenge: Claims Open February 1st!
Let me know in the comments if there are any questions or concerns, and welcome to a new round! ♥
The art for this challenge always gets me. It's so wonderful and happy and romantic. And I know it's probably intended to be J2, I mean of course it probably is, right? But my wincest-shipper heart so very much wants it to be Sam and Dean. Because they deserve something like this. After everything and with a love like theirs, they just freaking deserve it. That's why I love writing for this challenge.
Title: No Regrets Like Modesto Regrets
Word Count: 12,000
Summary: Stanford-era AU, Dean has amnesia and with his autopsy/body-handling expertise has talked his way into becoming a funeral director. He’s created a whole story for himself to explain it and he’s happy, but very lonely. At the request of a frantic John, Sam reluctantly journeys to the Central Valley town of Modesto, California to search for his wayward brother.
Author’s Note: Not my characters, only my words. Written for spn_meanttobe for prompt #42. Stranger. Go ahead, listen to No Regrets by Edith Piaf, the lyrics fit the story surprisingly well. Thank you to tebtosca for running this fun challenge (and giving us an extension!) And a huge load of thanks to my beta amypond45 for yet another skillful and helpful job.
Read it over on AO3 here.
So now I can turn my writing attention to finishing the spn_meanttobe story that I've gotten to the halfway point.
And I won't have to waste any time re-watching the episode from last night. Didn't hate it, just kinda meh.
Actually, I want to ask a few questions about the episode and see what y'all think:( Very spoiler-y questions: )
Ahh, this must be the season to sign up for everything.
Write All The Things!
I must admit, I have just signed myself up for:
spnopera Such a cool idea, I hope lots of people try this one out.
wincestbigbang Signups are still going on here. I actually only signed up for the 5k mini bang.
spn_bigpretzel Spring Exchange (I swear half the fun is coming up with good prompts! I always try to prompt stuff I want to read and would want to write myself)
intoabar I put down Sam Winchester and the mods will choose someone from one of these: Sleepy Hollow, Madam Secretary, Marvel's Agents of Shield, Better Call Saul for him to meet in a bar. Can you imagine the possiblities?? This one is so much fun, just try it once, you'll see! So far I've done two, in the first, Sam met Badger (from Firefly, also played by Mark Sheppard) and then last time I had Dean meet Zoe Washburne (from Firefly).

Word Count: 18,000
Summary: After Sam & Dean return from Zachariah’s messed-up version of their Heaven, thanks to some more angelic interference they get another chance to rediscover their deep bond in another time. When they return, will that be enough for them to stay together and rewrite their destiny?
Story Prompt: 45. Lion of Languedoc
The witch-hunters were close behind. Spurred on by a twisted sense of justice, they wanted nothing more than to see Marietta burn at the stake. Terrified, Marietta ran till she could run no more. She collapsed on the ground and awaited her dreadful fate. Suddenly, out of nowhere, came her salvation. Like a knight in shining armor, the noble Leon de Villeneuve literally swept Marietta off her feet, pulled her onto his horse and carried her to safety. Marietta knew she owed him her life. Did she also owe him her virtue?
If there's anyone out there that feels like beta-ing a Sam/Dean story for me, let me know. We're supposed to post by 6/8.
The Harlequin Challenge: Claims Open January 15th!
That is today! I didn't sign up until I could work one of the awesome prompts into a Sam/Dean scenario.
I Love reading J2 fic, just don't feel like writing it, and most of the prompts kinda scream J2 to me. But I found one that'll work and have a short story outline going already.
So glad this challenge is still going, it's going to be fun, thanks tebtosca!
Hope those of you who haven't already, sign up too!
